Counseling for Teens
Some teens can really benefit from individual therapy, where they can work through feelings or problems with a therapist. With teenagers, it’s important to offer many ways of engaging, then allow them to lead the way. I offer talk therapy, games, art, sand tray, mindfulness, and gestalt techniques. I’m good at finding ways to communicate with kids. It’s satisfying to help kids understand and cope with difficult feelings, and the hardships of life.
We can also schedule additional sessions with parents alone, parent and teen, or the entire family, as needed. Time talking with parents is an expected part of therapy for teens – your teen’s insurance covers it along with the teen’s therapy.
